Afridi hits a 18 but umpire signaled it 6 !!!

Shahebjada Mokammad Shahid Khan Afridi. This is the full name of Boom Boom Afridi. Today he showed his power and world watched it. South Africa gives a huge target of 344 to win. Pakistan starts well but once their team fall in deep danger when Afridi came to bat. After that he starts to hit back to back sixer. He hits a 158m massive six that went out of the park, Just wow. I thought it is a 18, but umpire signals it just a six!!! kidding!!! Today he given all the Pakistani fans a huge gift of 88 runs innings included 7 huge sixes and 5 fours. All the Afridi fans will sleep tonight very deep, though team Pakistan lost this 3rdODI. I am over sure all the Pakistani cricket fans forget this failure after watch all those sixers from Afridi. Hope he will continue this magic in the future.

PAKISTAN VS SOUTH AFRICA 3RD ODI 2013-2014

Pakistan came back to the series strongly after beating South Africa in the 2nd ODI comprehensively. Pakistan have obtained a good boosting momentum that they will have to keep up if they have to win ODI Series. In the last One Day played at Super Sport Park, Pakistan have done almost every thing right except some few points in which they need some more improvement. After getting early wickets, Pakistan loose tier concentration and did not keep on attacking. This helped South Africa from coming out of adverse conditions and setting a target that was a good one against struggling Pakistan batting line up. In chasing then they want one of their top three batsmen to score a big total but could not do so. Those all things are somehow acceptable but South Africa are facing some serious problems at broader level. They again found themselves in a difficult situation but could not found any way to come out of it successfully. In fielding, AB de Villiars lacked controlling over rate that was due to quick field changes in desperation that need to be handled wisely. Hashim Amla in both of two matches has caught behind playing wrong shots getting inside edge both times. He has been struggling so far in this series besides No. 1 batsman in the World Ranking. He should have to take it series. Due to injury facing Muhammad Irfan, Umar Gul will lead the Pakistan bowling camp once again. Umar Gul have not been looking impressive in this tour with only a good performance in T20 match played between the two getting five wickets for only 6 runs. He remained expensive in both opening ODIs. However, he will have to perform for Pakistan to have repeat performance like Centurian. Farhaan Behardien have made good reputation in the eyes of Selectors after 2nd ODI’s only fifty from South African Side in the middle order and got his position strong for few farther matches. Other will remain the same. Kamran Akmal will have to provide some confidence to get something out of him and led him to hit openly as his natural style. Pakistan will come back with same winning XI on Sunday.

The end of Sehwag or can he make a comeback?

An in-form sehwag would be asset for any cricket team. He followed "see balls, hit ball's" philosophy and that earned him runs and cause to get lot of victory for team India in past time. As An opener he defied all the odds no doubt. He did not be worth right Technic as an opener but did well with his own ability.

Though,  he isn't in form right now as past. sehwag's consistency and  reputation have both taken beating.  It'll take even the most acute cricket fan awhile to remember the last match-saved knock played. this should replace expeditious cricket shots that he has made before.

with reduce reflexes and a rapidly degraded average it was just a matter of time. Sehwag has been axed out for third and fourth test against Australia from Indian Test team

Right now he is 34. Can he make a grand come back as a king or fall down as a star fall. Time will say. We are waiting for the answer. Best wishes for Virendar Sehwag.

Pakistan Cricket Board denies Misbah-Hafeez rift

Pakistan Cricket Board denies Misbah-Hafeez rift

Pakistan cricket authorities forcefully denied reports of differences between Misbah-ul Haq and Mohammad Hafeez ahead of the five-match one-day series against South Africa starting on Sunday.
Pakistani media reported a serious dispute between one-day captain Misbah-ul Haq and Twenty20 skipper Mohammad Hafeez over the selection of the team.
"Misbah and Hafeez have developed serious differences over the selection of the final eleven and it has come to an extent that both are not on talking terms," leading Urdu newspaper Jang reported, quoting sources in the team.
Former paceman Sikander Bakht said Hafeez wants to displace Misbah as one-day captain.
"Hafeez scored 86 in the Twenty20 win so he must be flying high and now wants to take over as one-day captain," Bakht said in a television interview, referring to Hafeez's match-winning knock in Pakistan's 95-run win at Centurion last Sunday.
But the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said it conducted an inquiry with the team management and found the reports were baseless.

"The PCB high-ups launched a thorough inquiry, contacted the team management in South Africa and it was discovered that no such disagreement whatsoever existed amongst the think tank, or between Misbah and Hafeez," the PCB said in a statement.
It is therefore stated for the record that all such isolated reports in the media are baseless and an attempt to demoralise the team, said the PCB.
Pakistan's national cricket team has a history of in-fighting, dissent and revolts against captains in the past, resulting in poor performances.
The PCB said the entire team was motivated to do well on the tour.
"In fact, the management was exceptionally satisfied that at the commencement of the one-day series, the entire team was united and motivated and its morale was very high," said the statement.
Pakistan suffered a 3-0 whitewash in the preceding Test series.

Thirimanne, Chandimal make merry with maiden tons

L. Thirmanne and D.Chandimal  cracked maiden Test centuries to put Sri Lanka in command on the second day of the opening Test against Bangladesh in Galle on Saturday.
Left-handed Thirimanne hit a solid 155 not out and Chandimal an unbeaten 116 as the hosts declared their first innings closed at 570-4 after adding 209 to their overnight total of 361-3 for the loss of just one wicket.

Match Score

Bangladesh were 135-2 in their first innings at stumps, with Mohammad Ashraful
unbeaten on 65 and debutant Mominul Haque 35 not out.
Paceman Shaminda Eranga struck first when he had opener Jahurul Islam (20) caught behind and then unorthodox spinner Ajantha Mendis bowled debutant Anamul Haque (13) in his first over to put pressure on Bangladesh.
Ashraful then steadied the innings as he added 70 for the unfinished third-wicket stand with Mominul. He has so far hit seven fours in his 108-ball knock.
Thirimanne, playing his ninth Test, hit 14 fours in his 256-ball knock while Chandimal, in his sixth Test, smashed two sixes and 12 fours in a 151-ball innings. The pair dominated the Bangladeshi attack for more than a session.
Bangladesh failed to make the most of the chances that came their way in the morning as they twice let off Chandimal early in his innings. The Sri Lankan went on to add 203 with Thirimanne.
Thirimanne, 74 overnight, completed his hundred in the morning when he lofted left-arm spinner Elias Sunny over mid-on for two runs while Chandimal reached his century in the afternoon with three runs off spinner Mominul.
Chandimal went for big shots after scoring a 91-ball fifty as he took 45 more deliveries to complete his century, hitting a six each off spinners Mohammad Mahmudullah and Sohag Gazi.
Off-spinner Gazi finished with 3-164 off 50 overs, taking all of his wickets on Friday. Seamer Abul Hasan was the other wicket-taker, finishing with 1-112 off 27 overs.
Hasan, playing his second match, got a maiden Test wicket when he held a return catch to remove Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews early in the morning.
Mathews, who could add just two runs to his overnight score of 25, put on 62 for the fourth wicket with Thirimanne.
